Becoming a volunteer here at the Dream Center is our desire for you. It takes all of us to reach our community and make a difference.
We are a non-profit organization and volunteers are the driving force of our progress and success. We love Volunteers! Here at the Longview Dream Center we call our volunteers VIP’s and that stands for Very Important Persons.
We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities with flexible hours including weekdays and Saturdays. The information below will provide you the information you need to get involved with us.
CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Life Source Food Assistance
Description: Life Source provides food assistance for those in need.
Volunteers Needed: 8-12
Dates Needed: Every Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6 PM.
Requirements: Must be at least 13 years old or accompanied by a parent or guardian. Volunteers can work the entire 3 hour shift or as available.
Duties: The volunteers assist a client in selecting their food and walk them to their car and help them load their food in car.

LifeSource Clothing Distribution
Description: Our LifeSource Clothing program distributes FREE clothing to those in need or those going through crisis.
Days and Dates: LifeSource Clothing is open Wednesday – Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We also offer other volunteer hours throughout the week and on Saturdays.
Requirements: Must be at least 13 years old or accompanied by a parent or guardian. Volunteers can work on an as needed basis or sign up for designated shifts and times.
Duties: The volunteers unpack, fold, hang and rack clothes for the entire family. You also have the opportunity to meet people and assist them in selecting their clothes.

The Acts Project
Description: The primary focus is to assist families in simple household repairs, needs, and supplies.
Days and Dates: 2nd Saturday of the month & additional Saturdays when needed.
Number of Volunteers Needed: 5-10
Requirements: Must be at least 13 years old or accompanied by a parent or guardian. Must be in fairly good health and an ability to perform hard labor.
Duties: We have duties for skilled and unskilled workers. Skilled workers would include carpenters, electricians, AC techs, etc. Unskilled duties would include moving furniture, lawn mowing, weed-eating, landscaping and handyman work.
